Open Digitable books: communication engineering and Digitable Playbook — what each is about and where to read them.
The portal’s books are long, coherent texts that are read sequentially, rather than being course modules or reference materials. They are stored in separate repositories and have their own addresses, so previously they could only be seen alongside the courses: in the track catalog and as a single node on the learning map. Here, they are collected in one place.
The section does not end with the two open books. Below are the volumes of the Engineering Compendium: they are assembled from articles of this same portal, are part of the paid Workbench, and take from a track not everything but a selected route. Both facts are stated for each volume by a number, not by a hint.

The volumes are assembled from this portal's own material: every chapter is an article that stays free on the site. You pay for the edited, printable edition, not for access to the text.
Under every volume are two real pages of the built PDF. The first opens chapter one; the second was drawn by lot from the volume number, so nobody picked it. The page number is printed so the preview can be checked against the book itself.

A volume is a selected route, not a whole track: part of a track is deliberately left out and stays on the portal. Next to every track you can see how many articles were taken and out of how many.
